Action: Plea of covenant.
Agreement: Adam has granted for himself and his heirs that the manor, to wit, with the advowson of the church of the same vill and all other things pertaining to that manor, excepting the mills, the meadow and the rent - which after the decease of Master John ought to revert to Adam and his heirs - after the decease of Master John shall remain to John de Somery and his heirs freely, to hold of the chief lords for ever.
For this: John de Somery has granted to Adam and John, son of the same Adam, the 2 mills, so that Adam will hold the mills of the chief lords for the life of Adam. And then after the decease of Adam the mills shall remain to the aforesaid John, son of Adam, to hold to John, son of Adam, and the heirs of his body, of the chief lords for ever. In default of such heirs, the mills shall revert to the aforesaid John, son of John de Somery, and his heirs freely, to hold of the chief lords for ever.
Note: This agreement was made in the presence of Master John, and he acknowledged that he claimed nothing of right in the manor and the advowson of the church of the same vill, excepting the mills, the meadow and the rent, which he holds as aforesaid, except for the life of Master John, and similarly in the court he did fealty to John, son of John de Somery, for the aforesaid tenement.
