Volume 1, page 382:
He [Robert Bruce of Kennet (d. 1864)] m., 2ndly, 22 Apr. 1848, at Clackmannan, Jane Dalrymple Hamilton, da. of Sir James FERGUSSON, of Kilkerran, 4th Bart. [S.], by his 2nd wife, Henrietta, da. of Adam (DUNCAN), 1st VISCOUNT DUNCAN OF CAMPERDOWN. He d. 13 Aug. 1864, aged 68. His widow was living 1910.

His second marriage took place on 25 April 1848 at Edinburgh (the banns having been read at Clackmannan on 22 April). His wife's name was Jane Hamilton Ferguson and she died on 11 April 1885 at Edinburgh.

The date and place of the marriage are recorded in the register of banns of Clackmannan, which says that the marriage was conducted by the minister of St Thomas's Episcopal Chapel, Edinburgh. The forenames of the bride are given as simply Jane Hamilton in the bishop's transcript of her baptism entry (5 July 1809, St Stephen's, Exeter), the register of banns, her death entry and the index of wills. She died at 5 St Margaret's Road, Edinburgh. [Extracts of these records were supplied by Tim Powys-Lybbe and Rory Cunningham.]
