And for this quitclaim, Robert, for himself and his heirs has handed over and quitclaimed to the prior and his successors the
whole field called Dunnemore and
another field called Le Breche,
with appurtenances, and all the claim he had to the fishpond of the mill of Holessete .....
And Robert, for himself and his heirs, granted in the court to the prior and his successors, in perpetuity, every thing which the
charter of John de Port
shows he gave to Adam Robert's brother, whatever Robert holds in the vill as witnessed by the charter
in these terms: John de Port to H[enry], by the grace of God,
Bishop of Winchester, and all the faithful present and future,
greeting. Let if be known to you that on the advice of my men and friends I have given to God and the Church of St Mary of
Merton and the brothers of the priory, for my salvation and that of my father and mother and all my kinsmen living and dead, a hide
of land in Heckfield (Hegfeld'), in perpetuity, viz. the virgate
Ailwin Frend and
..ewin son of Cedde
held, and the virgate of
Edwin Cutell'
and in addition I have given them all my wood which lies between the land of the same Edwin Cutell' and the stream
and the virgate which Ailward held, and the half virgate which
Kippingus held and another half virgate
which Teodoricus [held]. I have also added my wood which lies
between the house of Kipping and the house of
Edwin as far as the
stream, and my meadow called Litteleswith' with all the adjoining lands -
woodland, plain, meadow and pasture. Moreover I have
