Feet of Fines: County List

The pages linked below gives details of the feet of fines that have been published for each county. As indicated, for some counties there are also English abstracts on this site, and for some there are links to images of the original documents on Professor Robert Palmer's The Anglo-American Legal Tradition website.

[Note that most fines are arranged in chronological sequences by county, but that there are separate sequences for "divers (or mixed) counties", concerning property in more than one county, for "unknown counties", from which the name of the county was omitted (in some cases not the foot of a fine, but one of the copies given to the parties), and for "various counties", separated from the main sequences for various reasons. Fines from these other sequences are sometimes included in published county collections, but sometimes not.]
